Channel setup and maintenance

Administrators

Hashtag

Previously, you had to connect a bot for this purpose. Conduct surveys to get the opinion of your audience. Interview subscribers if you decide to change the channel (change the topic, style of publications, etc.).

Publication rules

There are several standard requirements:

do not post overnight. Not everyone turns off the sound of the gadget at night;

find your own time frame so as not to compete with others. Most fast at 8 am, 6 pm, and 8 pm;

in the morning – serious information, in the evening – entertaining;

Better 1 quality post per day instead of 5 annoying short messages;

the frequency depends on the topic. news channel – daily or even hourly. Highly specialized with long posts – 2-3 times a week;

people read more readily on weekdays than on weekends.

Telegram bots

Why do you need bots in your new channel:

creating beautiful posts;

additional options for interacting with subscribers;

planning publications;

tracking indicators.

Bots can be external: they can be added by the administrator to help with posting and management, as well as internal (insight) – they are called by commands. A few examples of bots:

@ControllerBot – helps to form and send posts (including deferred posting capability). You can add emoji voting to a post. Viewing statistics is available.

@vote is a bot for easy polling creation.

@LivegramBot is a tool for communicating with the audience (receiving and responding to messages), creating mailings, tracking statistics.

@mrkdwnrbt – Helps format posts. Provides deferred posting.

How to connect a bot to a channel – for example @ControllerBot

First, create your own bot. Copy this name: @BotFather and paste it into the Telegram search bar. Go to the bot channel, click “Run” and select the “newbot” command .

3. Now you need to enter the username of the bot. Think of any, as long as it ends with “bot” . If the username is already taken, the system will warn you about it and offer to try again.

How to advertise a channel and monitor statistics

In order to gain subscribers, you have to invest money. There are advertising exchanges in Telegram: select channels that are interesting for your target audience and place promo posts.

Mutual PR also works: it is usually launched between channels with approximately equal number of subscribers. 

Promote your channel on social networks: through ads, promo posts or your official publics.

Get media coverage. A good option for publication is an article on the topic “A selection of interesting channels about …”. Yours should be included in the selection first or last: for better memorability.

Telegram statistics

For analytical data use @ChannelAnalyticsBot or information from the non-commercial resource Tgstat.ru. There is also a Telemetr service . What data do you need:

  • number of subscribers;
  • coverage of each post;
  • number of views per day;
  • number of reposts;
  • mentions.

The mentioned services provide enough data to calculate the effectiveness of channel promotion and conversion (if it is used for commercial purposes).

Telegram is a powerful and popular platform for attracting, expanding and retaining a target audience. Companies, brands and private professionals are encouraged to create and maintain channels to achieve specific goals, from increasing loyalty to increasing sales. Telegram has all the necessary tools to set up, manage publications and promote. Think of the channel as a corporate blog: look for the author’s style, create exclusive content and avoid plagiarism.
